Pro-Bar Halligan

The Pro-Bar Halligan was developed by a Forcible Entry Instructor of FDNY.  This Halligan-type forcible entry tool is the result of years of research as well as countless interviews with fire chief’s and firefighters in FDNY and many other large and small departments located in the eastern sections of the US.  As a result, nowhere else in the United States will you find a forcible entry tool quite like the “Pro-Bar”.

• Available in 24″, 30″, 36″ and 42″ lengths
• A Halligan-type forcible entry tool
• Drop forged, one piece construction, of alloy steel
• Fork, adz and point designed with the correct lengths, widths and tapers.  Thus enabling the firefighter to effect easy penetration and maximum leverage

ADZ

• This is the flat surface on one end that is about 6 inches long and curved.  Allowing you to force the curve around the jams of doors and get into small spaces in order to use mechanical advantage to overcome the door you are trying to open.

PICK

• A relatively sharp pointed tool on the same end as the adz.  This allows you to quickly breach locked doors as well as use the Halligan bar to wedge itself through clasped locks.

FORK

• This part of the tool is extremely versatile as well. It allows you to break latched locks, or furthermore use as a wedge to pry.

Cutting bolts, prying windows open, securing a ladder, clearing window and door openings and pulling nails for instance, are all uses of the Pro-Bar Halligan that firefighters use in forcible entry and search and rescue operations today.
