Pro-Bar Halligan Tool
The Pro-Bar Halligan Tool stands out as a high-performance forcible entry tool. Crafted specifically to handle the rigorous demands of firefighting and rescue. Developed by an FDNY Forcible Entry Instructor, incorporating direct feedback from seasoned fire chiefs and firefighters from both the FDNY and other U.S. departments. This valuable insight led to a design that maximizes both performance and reliability.
Its one-piece, drop-forged alloy steel construction gives the Pro-Bar Halligan exceptional strength and durability, allowing it to perform under extreme pressure. Available in 24″, 30″, 36″, and 42″ lengths, the 30″ model is especially popular for balancing portability with effectiveness. The tool’s three essential components—the fork, adz, and pick—are engineered to enable fast penetration and maximum leverage during entry.
The Pro-Bar Halligan’s versatility extends to rescue operations, where firefighters use it for tasks like prying windows open, cutting bolts, and clearing obstructions. Its compact design allows it to work efficiently in confined spaces, delivering mechanical advantage when precision is essential. Whether breaching inward or outward, the Pro-Bar Halligan delivers dependable performance. Making it an indispensable tool for firefighters in critical moments.
ADZ
- This is the flat surface on one end that is about 6 inches long and curved. Allowing you to force the curve around the jams of doors and get into small spaces in order to use mechanical advantage to overcome the door you are trying to open.
PICK
- A relatively sharp pointed tool on the same end as the adz. This allows you to quickly breach locked doors as well as use the Halligan bar to wedge itself through clasped locks.
FORK
- This part of the tool is extremely versatile as well. It allows you to break latched locks, or furthermore use as a wedge to pry.
Cutting bolts, prying windows open, securing a ladder, clearing window and door openings, are all uses of the Pro-Bar Halligan Tool.
